Cook bacon until well done and add onions & garlic, cooking till onions are clear. Add broth and bring to a boil. Add potato slices and boil 20 minutes for fork-tender potatoes. Add sausage and cream and simmer until warm throughout. Add spinach leaves (no stems) and stir until wilted. Serve in sourdough bowl or with loaves of french bread.
