The deep blue morning sky reflects off rain water in this cast iron cauldron. The kettle slowly fills each year as fall turns to winter. By January, a thin sheet of ice will float on the surface when the mercury dips below freezing.The kettle is located in the yard of the El Dorado County Historical Museum.
